Gary Nissley started hosting his blues radio show back in the early '80s from the studios of public radio station KPCC in Pasadena, California. Rockin' and Jumpin' the Blues with Gary Nissley was originally broadcast over KPCC Radio in Pasadena through the 1980s and early 1990s. The show focused on new and vintage jump blues, rockabilly, up-tempo doo-wap, jump/swing, country boogie/hillbilly, Cajun zydeco and even gospel. The show also gave bar and club updates about where the local bands were playing.
