Poobah Broadcast: Tom Coston Show with Red Rosie and guest Peter Wilson
2011
Originally broadcast at 8 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011. This week our guest was Peter Wilson.
Peter Wilson hails from a large Pasadena family and he was just old enough to remember when it was a small town. He was also around for the genesis of the Doo Dah Parade and, as such, he was frequent habitué of Old Town. 30 years ago he started his restoration and painting business as a natural outgrowth of a passion for Pasadena’s rich and diverse architectural legacy. Peter has served for 13 years as entertainment chair of Pasadena Heritage’s bi-annual “Celebration on the Colorado Street Bridge” where he loves to showcase local bands.
Along with Laura and John Pings, Peter recently put together the "You know You Are From Old School Pasadena When..." Facebook group. It has evolved into the people's history of Pasadena, a destination where anybody can share good stories and discussions about what it was like growing up as baby boomers. When you read some the startling and touching threads, it's like finding a treasure trove underneath an old floorboard.
